2022 Swim Team Information

Welcome to another season with the Lee’s Crossing Cyclones! This year things are going back to “normal” from before COVID. For those that were new last year, this means that we will not be splitting the meets into two different age groups and we will be going to other pools and have other swim teams come to our pool for the meets.

Pre-Registration

The pre-registration link will be distributed on Sunday, March 27th. The pre-registration link will close on Monday, April 4th. Priority for pre-registration will be granted as follows:

1) Lee’s Crossing residents

2) Non-Lee’s Crossing returning swimmers

3) Non-Lee’s Crossing swimmers

After you submit your online pre-registration form, we will confirm your spot on the team or confirm your spot on a waiting list once pre-registration is closed. If you are confirmed, you will need to register on our website and pay by Friday, April 15th. Once your spot on the team is confirmed, we will give you details. If we do not receive payment or forms by April 15th, your spot will be released to someone on the waiting list.

2022 Pricing

Lee’s Crossing Residents - $50 per swimmer

Non-Lee’s Crossing Residents - $100 per swimmer

The registration fee includes a team t-shirt, swim cap, ribbons after meets, the end of the year party & a certificate. Medals will given out for new swimmers to our team as well as special trophies for selected swimmers.

Swimsuits

This year we will be using Swim Outlet for our team suits. These are not required, but many families like to purchase them. Once your spot is confirmed on the team, we will provide the link to purchase a suit. The estimated cost for a girl’s suit is $31. The estimated cost for a boy’s jammer is $25.

Expectations for Parents

We are asking for every family to have a parent help at one half of 4 out of our 5 meets. We will have information on our website about what to expect at a meet with rules for the meets, volunteer positions, & procedures for volunteering. We will have volunteer coordinators, Heather Harris and Laura Holder, organizing and keeping track of volunteers.

Swimmers Out for Meets

We understand that many families have plans during the summer and will need to miss meets. That is fine. We will have a form on our website to let us know if you are missing a meet.

Due to the large size of our team in past years, there may be meets that we will not be able to have all swimmers that are available swimming in the meet. This hasn’t happened in years, but we want to let you know about the possibility. The league has set a maximum number of swimmers at 120; if we have 125 swimmers available, we will have to sit out 5 swimmers. This decision will be made by the coaches, and may be based on practice attendancethe week before, as well as behavior during practice and meets. This hasn’t been an issue in the past most of the time, but we mention it just in case.

Whirlpools

This year, we are continuing our Whirlpools program. This program is targeted at children ages 4-5 that know how to swim, but need a little extra assistance or would like to become stronger swimmers. This is a great program for 4 year olds who would like to join the team next year as a Cyclone or 5 year olds who are not as comfortable in the water as others. Whirlpools will meet 3 days per week during morning practices starting June 1 (see below), and will have dedicated coaches to assist in their time in the water. Whirlpool swimmers will not compete in swim meets. Registration for the Whirlpools will be via the pre-registration link that will be circulated as well. The registration fee for Whirlpools is $40 for Lee’s Crossing residents & $90 for non-Lee’s Crossing residents. The registration fee includes t-shirt, swim cap, the end of season party and an end of season certificate.

2022 Clinics

We will offer multiple clinics this year for ages 7 and up. See below for clinic types & dates. Clinics are optional for anyone that is interested in getting some extra help with strokes, turns, or dives, especially for those that are new to swim team or just moved into the 7-8 year old age range. The cost will be $5 per session. We will have a link on our website to sign up for the clinics; payment will be accepted in cash the day of the clinic.
