Updates from Parkwood Commons & Meet Theme

We hope you all have enjoyed your weekend and are ready for swim practice tomorrow morning. We heard from Parkwood Commons and we have some information to pass along.

  • We are bringing back themes for our Meets this year. This Thursday’s Meet theme is PATRIOTIC! Wear as much red, white and blue as you can for the group picture.
  • The Pool address is 1300 Parkwood Chase NW Acworth, GA 30102.
  • Parking is tight on the side of the road but they have Pitner Elementary right across the street where all athletes/families should park. They have a small lot & grass parking that will accommodate coordinators & coaches and accessible parking. Please, NO street parking, you will be towed.
  • Concessions are CASH ONLY. They will have pizza, hot dogs, chips, candy & drinks. They will sell whole pizzas by pre-order only. You can go to the following link to pre-order a whole pizza: https://forms.gle/oEfVEk6gXpkJUk5o6
  • Good news that they have plenty of room so everyone that can will be able to participate in the meet this week.
  • Warm ups begin at 5:30pm. Please arrive early so you can get a parking spot and walk over. We recommend you bring chairs, bug spray and cash for concessions. The meet will start at 6pm.
  • Please remind your swimmer that we need to be respectful to the neighborhood and their facility. If your swimmer causes damage you will be responsible and no one wants that. We want your swimmers to have fun, but they should find something to do like a game, cards, etc between events so they don't wear themselves out.
  • We will be handing out swim caps this week. Each swimmer will receive one. We are still waiting for the team shirts to arrive. As soon as they do, we will pass those out.
If you haven't let us know if your swimmer will be attending the meet or not or signed up for a volunteer position, please see the directions for how to do both below. Also, please check the list of swimmers that are out that was sent via email. We are using the information from the website and the Google form that was previously sent out. To let us know your availability go to:
  1. Please go to the following link (you can also do this on the app) https://leescrossing.swimtopia.com/swim_meets
  2. You will see all of the meets listed. The first one says "2022 Lee's Crossing at PCST Piranhas". You will click the green button that says "Meet Entry Open".
  3. You will need to log in using the information you created when you registered for the team.
  4. It should list all of your swimmers. You will click the drop down menu for each swimmer and say whether they are attending/not attending the meet. There is also a space for notes for the Coaches.
  5. Once you have saved it, you can go back and edit it as needed up until it closes on Tuesday, May 31 at 11:30pm. The coaches will be working on the line ups for the meets on Wednesday so please email us at [email protected] if your swimmer can no longer make it last minute.
  6. You should notice a yellow box at the top about signing up for a volunteer position. You may click "Sign up for job shifts" from this page to choose a volunteer slot. See below for details on how to sign up and skip to number 3.
If you have already let us know about your swimmer's availability for the meet and didn't choose a volunteer slot then. Here are the directions:
  1. Please go to the following link (you can also do this on the app) https://leescrossing.swimtopia.com/swim_meets
  2. You will see all of the meets listed. The first one says "2022 Lee's Crossing at PCST Piranhas". You will click the green button that says "Job Signup Open".
  3. The parent's names should be listed and you select whichever parent(s) is volunteering.
  4. A list of jobs will be there. Please pay attention to if it is a first half or second half volunteer position. Many jobs we need multiple people (like timers). If you click the little "i' it will give you more details about the position. There are a few that require very minimal training. This can be done in the morning during practice and/or before the meet starts.
  5. Just click the box to the left of the job you are signing up for and hit save assignment. You can always go back and edit it later if needed. Another great perk of this website and the app is that you can see what you have signed up to volunteer for easily.
