First Meet at Brookstone III Sign Ups Available

We have had another wonderful week of swim team. If you haven't picked up your shirt or swim cap, we will have them at practice. Please remember to put your swimmer's name in the shirt. They get mixed up so easily.

Here are some reminders:

  1. There is no swim practice on Friday, May 26 or Monday, May 29.
  2. We have our next Stroke Clinic this Saturday, May 27 from 9-10am for ages 7 and up. The cost is $5 cash preferred. We still have space at the Clinic if your swimmer would like to join. It is not required that you sign up ahead of time, but it helps us to plan. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/9ws28qLPsm8MbxbbA
  3. Morning practices begin Tuesday, May 30.
  • 5/6 years 8:30-9am
  • 7/8 years 9-9:45am
  • 9/10 years 9:30-10:15am
  • 11 & up 10:15-11am
  • Whirlpools begin Wednesday, May 31 from 9:45-10:15am (Monday, Wednesday & Fridays only)
Our first meet is coming up on Thursday, June 1 at Brookstone III. Here is some important info:
  1. The address for the Pool is 6126 Braidwood Lane, Acworth, GA.
  2. All swimmers should be in the pool for warm ups at 5:30pm. The meet will start at 6pm. We should be getting more details soon from Brookstone III about parking and set up, but please allow extra time.
  3. Every person needs to go into the Swimtopia app and mark if your swimmer is available to swim in the meet by Tuesday, May 30. You will go to the following link and click on "Meet Entry". Then, you should see your swimmer's names and you click "Edit". There will be a dropdown menu and you will select "attending" or "not attending". https://leescrossing.swimtopia.com/swim_meets
  4. You will also use the above link to sign up to volunteer at the meet. You will click on "Job Sign Up". Then select your parent name and choose a volunteer position. To read more information about each volunteer position, you can hover over the small "i" next to the volunteer position. Our volunteer coordinators, Cindy Tam and Sarah Delaney, are happy to answer any questions you might have. Remember everyone is asked to volunteer at 4 out of the 5 meets.
  5. We recommend all families please read over our document on our website called "What to Expect at a Swim Meet". This should answer many questions you might have and help you be prepared for the meet.
  6. Our coaches will be doing time trials on the swimmers. As a reminder, your swimmer needs to be able to get across the pool in a minute and a half in order to swim in the meets (this is a league rule). We will let the parents know by early next week if your swimmer isn't able to do that quite yet. It is our coach's goal to get every child that wants to get across in a minute and a half able to do that as soon as possible.
  7. As mentioned at sign ups, we have a very large team and 2e can only swim 120 swimmers in a meet. If you aren't available to swim, please make sure you update it. Also, many have told us that your swimmer isn't planning to do meets or isn't doing the first one. Please make sure you go in and double check that they are marked as unavailable as we may have missed it by accident :) For those on the alternate team, it should say unavailable currently. If we have a spot for your swimmer, we will let you know as soon as we are able to.
If you haven't downloaded the Swimtopia app, you will need to do that in order to see the events your swimmer is participating in. It is free. There is a paid version, but it is not required to see what your swimmer is swimming. More information will be coming specific to the meet. We are happy to answer any questions. Sarah and Emily
