Update for Brookstone 3 Meet
May 27th
Good afternoon!
We finally heard back from Brookstone 3 about our meet tomorrow.
- The Address is: 6124 Braidwood Lane, Acworth, GA 30101. All swimmers need to be at the pool for warm ups at 5:30pm. Please allow time for parking, setting up and getting your swimmer ready to get in the water.
- They have a parking lot, and overflow parking will be just past the pool on the grass; a parking attendant will direct you. If you park on the street, they ask that you only park on one side of the street and watch out for No Parking signs. Please bring chairs for your family.
- Their concessions offer walking tacos, Uncrustables, and pizza. You can pay with cash or Venmo.
- Our theme for this week's meet is Patriotic! Bring your best red, white and blue.
- If you are volunteering for the first or second half, please check in with our Volunteer Coordinators, Sarah Delaney and Jane Whitfield, when you arrive and they will give you a name tag. If you are volunteering and need info about what all the job entails, please check in with them in the morning to get instructions.
- If you signed your swimmer up for the meet, please make every effort to be there as it impacts everyone in your age range especially for relays when someone is not there. We understand that last minute emergencies happen. Please text Sarah at 770-851-0375 or Emily at 562-212-5127 if needed. If you are running late (especially if you are volunteering), please text us so we can find someone to fill in if needed.
- If you haven't read What to Expect at a Swim Meet, we would encourage you to do so. It will show you how to mark your swimmer's arm for the meet. Here is the link: https://leescrossing.swimtopia.com/swim-meet-101
- One thing to emphasize is to have your swimmer lined up for their event a minimum of 3 events prior to their event.
- For the free relays with swimmers 10 and under if they are swimming 2nd or 4th, they should line up at the shallow end of the pool. For the medley relay with swimmers ages 10 and under if they are swimming breaststroke (2nd) or freestyle (4th), they should line up at the shallow end of the pool.
- If you haven't downloaded the Swimtopia app, please make sure you do that so you can see what events your swimmer is doing in the meet.
- If you haven't picked up your swim team t-shirts or swim caps, they will be at practice tomorrow.
